BLUEPHINS ROCK!!
This first meet of the 2009-2010 swimming season has come and gone. A great time was had by all swimmers in attendance. Over 120 swimmers from Charlottetown Bluephins, Summerside Dolphins and UPEI Panthers competed in the one day event.
Before the meet Head Coach William Calhoun challenged the swimmers to achieve the best starts, turns and finishes that they could do in each race. He further challenged them to return to their coach and give the coach feedback on how these racing skills faired in each race.
William Calhoun was ecstatic with the results seen in the pool. He commented;
"I was very glad to see swimmers coming back to their coaches and talking about their skills. It is vital that all swimmers remeber that starts, turns and finishes are key to a successful race. This early in the season we are looking to gain racing experience and develop sound racing skills."
The Charlottetown Bluephins will now head back to practice to further develop their skills. Endurance and speed will be the next challenge presented to the swimmers when they dive into the pool for their next competition.
